About Us
Founded in late 2015, the Help A Student (HAS) Foundation is a registered non-profit dedicated to restoring dignity and hope through education.
Our core purpose is to support underprivileged learners by providing school uniforms and essential life skills, helping them thrive with confidence. Guided by experienced educators and compassionate leaders, we work with care and integrity to meet the real needs of students. Every initiative we undertake is rooted in our belief that education can transform lives and uplift.
The Challenge
About 41% of South African learners who start Grade 1 drop out before completing matric—largely due to lack of resources like books, uniforms, transport, food, qualified teachers, and safe learning spaces.
The Help A Student (HAS) Foundation is a compassionate initiative dedicated to addressing some of these challenges by supporting underprivileged learners with school uniforms and essential life skills needs. We believe every child deserves the confidence to learn and grow without the barriers of poverty or social stigma. Guided by empathy and a deep commitment to dignity and hope, we work alongside communities to provide practical support that changes lives. At HAS, we know that a simple act of kindness can open the door to a brighter future.
Our Impact
The HAS Foundation has already delivered meaningful impact by providing school uniforms to over 2,000 learners, ensuring they remain in school with dignity. These completed projects reflect the Foundation’s deep commitment to improving financial wellbeing, promoting a culture of saving, and enabling long-term economic empowerment—underpinned by strong governance and a heartfelt focus on uplifting communities through education and opportunity.
